Spring is finally here. We’re almost sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a few things that might save you some problems and keep you comfortable in the months to come. The weather is beginning to heating up in Newark and the last thing you want is to find out is that you need AC repair. Going through this short checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.
- Inspect Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost every one of our lists of things to check because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which decreases the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are another piece of the puzzle that is often neglected as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and switch them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency.
- Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we step in to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up lengthens the life of your system and keeps it working at top efficiency. Spring is the perfect time to set up your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a little investment into the life of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 740-200-5591.
